Albert Chong, an artist of African and Chinese descent uses photography, sculpture, and installation art to explore his ancestry and identity. His early photography works earned critical recognition for its contribution to the multi-culturalism movement in the visual arts. He specifically creates visual narratives on race, identity, family, nationalism, mysticism and spirituality. Mr. Chong's perspective ranges from aesthetic beauty for its own sake to the personal, political and numerous other concerns that constitute his artistic vision.
The recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, Chong teaches art and photography at the University of Boulder and will be at Hammonds House Museum's 2015 VAN (Visual Art Network - of the National Performance Network) artists in residence.
